The Shetland Sheepdog is a sturdy dog breed, developed to thrive in the harsh conditions of the Shetland Islands in Scotland. They’ve been used for decades for herding and as farm dogs, but they make a great family dog as well. They are quick learners and very obedient, but require regular exercise. Fun fact: The Shetland Sheepdog sheds its coat twice a year; in summer and in fall.
