Hachiko was an amazing dog from Japan (1923 - 1935) who became famous when after his owner died, he waited for nine years for his return to Shibuya train station in Tokyo. His story was heartbreaking, but so fascinating that is was filmed twice: in Hachiko Monogatari (1987) and in Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009).

A year before his death, in April 1934, his statue was raised up in front of the station. Hachiko's fur has been preserved in the Tokyo museum.

Remember, dogs are the only animals that love you more than themselves!
